Photographer Stefen Chow captured this shot of Tembusu Park in Singapore as part of his playground series. He worked with an aerial photography company to fly drones over more than 200 playgrounds that he scouted from an online street directory.
How delightful to have these round and curved components as part of the park. Even the trees, when seen from above like this, are mandala-like. I love how the palm trees surrounding the circular areas, from this vantage point look like green stars.
National Geographic selected Stefen’s aerial photo for its “Photo of the Day” on September 6, 2015.
If you’re able to walk in the woods or places where there are tree…imagine yourself flying overhead…what would the tops of the trees look like to you?
If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
