Australian baker extraordinaire and Zoology graduate, Rhiannon, created this masterpiece of a cake to look just like the planet Jupiter…my favorite planet. Twice in one week now, I am in awe of the people and their art that I showcase on MotD.

From her website she states:

…[my] blog is all about food. I’m a self-taught cook and cake decorator. I’ve always loved cooking. Food is the common language that binds us all. It’s a vital part of our day, and a central part of it for many. I love making food for people — there’s nothing quite like the feeling you get when you plate up a wonderful dish that people enjoy.

She even goes so far to be “true” to the center as well…although she admits that it’s “totally not to scale.” See more images and read more about her inner and outer attention to details regarding Jupiter & her Jupiter cake, her reason for choosing it, and how she did it by checking out her 2013 blog post: Jupiter Structural Layer Cake.

I wonder if Jupiter is gluten-free?

Rhiannon also generously provides a tutorial on how to make this spectacular cake on this blog post: Spherical Concentric Layer Cake Tutorial, which she also used to make her awesome Earth cake.

It always amazes what people create when using a bit of an imagination, some skills, and a desire to experiment with something new. It makes my heart sing and inspires me to do something new as well.

How about you? What are you inspired to create today?

Happy Coloring!
