This week’s MotD theme: It’s Not Easy Being Green

Fine art photographer, Teri Dashfield, Images by TDashfield, captured this beautiful image of a golden barrel cactus cluster at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ. Read more about her trip to the garden via her blog post.

About her photography, she states:

As a photographer I am constantly striving to improve my skills in order to capture the amazing things I see in a way that truly showcases them. But sometimes I do like to experiment with an image thus creating a brand new photographic creature.

In the pursuit of these images I have been rained on, gotten muddy, been cold, got sunburned and have been to some great places and seen wonderful things. I want to not just share an image with you but to also convey the feeling that that moment captured.

I really appreciate her enthusiasm and dedication to her art. View more of Teri’s exquisite photos (and buy prints) via her web site: ImagesByTDashfield.com or her Etsy shop.

Inspiration for Today

Teri’s cacti demonstrate how we may sometimes put prickly thorns around our beautiful hearts with the intention of protecting ourselves. However in the end, the thorns prevent anyone coming too close for fear of being hurt. What thorns did we erect around our hearts? Which ones can we release?

Happy Coloring!
