This week’s theme: Instagram
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Instagram (from Sunday’s MotD post). As I stated in Sunday’s MotW post, I incorporated design elements from the art of all five artisans I’m showcasing this week on the Mandala of the Day site. Their art inspired me to be creative in making these five elements work in one collaborative design. I hope you get a chance to check out their art.
As for painting it, I approached it the same way I do most of my MotW paintings: start with the section that grabs my attention first and use the first color that catches my eye. In this case, I started with the marigold color for the space around the blue “tulips”. I continued this approach throughout the piece.
I used M. Graham, Holbein, and Golden acrylics paint on Canson’s mixed media paper, enhancing it with a variety of gel pens by sakura and uni-ball.

Mandala of the Day
