Today I started on the third sign of the Astrological Wheel: Gemini – The Twins.
My coloring progress for today:

1 – we start with the design
2 – add varying shades of gray

In 2012 I created a hyperbolic tessellation mandala for each of the zodiac signs. For Gemini, its symbol is a pair of columns, parallel and balanced. Before I even decided to color this one I knew it wanted some grays in it…representing the “grey” matter of our brains, that mental energy that represents an air sign and Gemini. The red gives it the spark to light it up, otherwise it’s just boring.
