2017-318: The Astrological Sign of Virgo – Day 1

Today I started on the sixth sign of the Astrological Wheel: Virgo – The Virgin.

My coloring progress for today:

1 – we start with the design
2 – start filling in background with soft violet
3 – continue filling in the background with soft violet
4 – finished the main background; full view of today’s progress

In 2012 I created a hyperbolic tessellation mandala for each of the zodiac signs. For Virgo, its symbol is represented as a demure Maiden.

When I reached for a marker to start coloring in the background, the color “soft violet” popped into view. It creates this lovely soft “pillow” of color upon which “Virgo” can comfortably reside. Unlike the bold energy of Leo, Virgos like to maintain a low profile.
