23-148 Completion #1

Today’s Mandala Message: Get Into Completion Consciousness

This week I’m working through Principle #28 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Clean Up Your Messes and Your Incompletes”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of getting into a completion mindset. It’s challenging at times…especially with a big and/or complex goal/project/task. I recently did an inventory of all the painting projects I started and have yet to finish…I’m embarrassed to say I have almost 60…all in varying stages of completion. I know what happens. I start a project, all excited and then another project idea comes up and I start up a new one and so on and so on.

Canfield suggests: “Continually ask yourself — what does it take to actually get this task completed? —. Then you can begin to consciously take the next step … Rather than starting 15 projects that end up incomplete and take up space … you’d be better off if you had started just 3 and completed them.” Based on that, I’m just focusing on three projects for now and waitlisting the rest of them.

A good mindfulness practice would be to take on a completion mindset.

So how about you? How many projects do you have that are works in progress? What keeps you from completing any of them? Can you pick out three for now and focus on just those three?

“I’m obsessed with
finishing as a skill.
Over the years, I’ve realized
that so many of the good things
that have come my way
are because I was able to finish
what I started.”
