Today’s Mandala Message: Declutter
This week I’m working through Principle #28 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Clean Up Your Messes and Your Incompletes”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of decluttering…a process I’ve been doing for at least 20 years. I do value when an area is free of clutter. I feel like I can breath better. For the most part, I’m able to keep the top of my desk decluttered or just a few seconds away from being clear. I know that I work better with my desk clear of everything except what I’m currently doing.
Canfield states: “One of the ways to free up attention units is to free your living and work environment from the mental burden of … clutter. When you clear out the old, you also make room for something new. … If there’s anything new that you want in your life, you’ve got to make room for it. I mean that psychologically as well as physically.”
A good mindfulness practice would be to free up your space.
So how about you? How are you with clutter? Are you holding onto stuff (mentally, emotionally, physically) that no longer serves you? What’s one spot you can declutter today?
“When we don’t
— Jack Canfield
throw away clutter
and items we no longer need,
it’s as if we don’t trust
our ability to manifest
the necessary abundance
in our lives to buy new ones.
…
We need to complete the past
so that our present can show up
more fully.”
