Today’s Mandala Message: Put Things Away
This week I’m working through Principle #28 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Clean Up Your Messes and Your Incompletes”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of putting things away (to be organized) to make it easier to complete projects.
I have a shed converted into a studio that tends to easily get cluttered…mainly because I fail to put things away after I’m done for the day. I need to change that habit. It’s so much easier to walk into my studio and just start working rather than having to put things away and clear space before I even start. I’m exhausted before I even start!
Canfield states: “Just as cleaning up your incompletes is important to your successful future, there is literally no excuse for enduring the disorganization of your life.”
Organizing and maintaining systems of organization have always been a struggle for me. Most of the time I feel like I have more stuff than space, thus the “extras” just pile up wherever I can make room which means they’re usually in the way of other things which means I have to keep moving stuff in order to do other stuff. Argh!
A good mindfulness practice would be to take the time to PITA (put IT away).
So how about you? Are you good at putting things away? Are the areas where you do your work decluttered? Do you have a system in place to help you stay organized?
“Clutter
— Eleanor Brown
is not just
physical stuff.
It’s old ideas,
toxic relationships
and bad habits.
Clutter is anything
that does not support
your better self.”
