Today’s Mandala Message: Get Your Finances in Order
This week I’m working through Principle #28 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Clean Up Your Messes and Your Incompletes”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of balancing my checkbook and bringing my financial info up-to-date. It’s something I’ve struggled with for as long as I can remember. It’s time for me to be responsible for managing my finances.
As part of Canfield’s suggestion to complete, dump, or delegate our incompletes, he came up “25 Ways to Complete Before Moving Forward”. The list covers potentially every possible area in our lives that could use some completeness. Number 7 “Checkbook not balanced or accounts that should be closed” got my attention. Earlier this year I began tracking my spending, something I’ve needed to do for a long time. It was helping me see where most of my money goes each month. I started out all gong-ho about it and then I dropped it. I’m putting it back on my task list and coming up with a way to easily manage it.
A good mindfulness practice would be to be conscious of where your money goes.
So how about you? Are you good at balancing your accounts? Are your accounts in order? Do you know how much money you spend on different areas of you life every month?
“You must gain control
— Dave Ramsey
over your money,
or the lack of it
will forever control you.”
Blessings,
