Today’s Mandala Message: Rid Yourself of Daily Irritants – Part Deux

This week I’m working through Principle #28 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Clean Up Your Messes and Your Incompletes”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of ridding myself of daily irritants…again. Yesterday I took that concept from MotD 23-151 to heart and was amazed at how much I was able to accomplish. And it turns out, staying off my phone and tablet made a world of difference…but honestly, once I got started it was all about the momentum…I didn’t want to stop.

I’ve been wanting to shift around several pieces of artwork around our house as well as hang up the ones waiting to be hung. Everyday for at least a year, I would see these pieces and be reminded yet again…I need to take care of these pieces. Until I read Canfield’s write-up about daily irradiants I had no idea it was draining my energy. So yesterday, I did it and I love it. Even while I was doing it, it felt good to be doing it…not the drag I dreaded it would be. Now I walk around my house and see the displayed art and it makes me smile and I say to myself “I did that!” … and then I hear the angels sing songs of joy.

btw…this morning I allowed myself to weed an overtaken section of our garden…I feel like my plants can breathe again.

A good mindfulness practice would be to take care of the daily irritants…a little bit at a time.

So how about you? Do you put off the “daily irritants”? What excuses do you have for ignoring them? Can you give yourself 15 minutes to take care of one daily irritant a day?
