Today’s Mandala Message: Time to Get Uncomfortable

This week I’m working through Principle #30 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Face What Isn’t Working”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of getting uncomfortable about facing what isn’t working. Canfield states: “To face what’s not working in your life usually means you’re going to have to do something uncomfortable. … But because you don’t want to do these uncomfortable things, you’ll often defend tolerating a situation that doesn’t work.

I admit, I’d much rather be comfortable than uncomfortable. But when the “pain” of being comfortable becomes more painful than being uncomfortable, then I know it’s time to get off my a$$.

The first step for me with this principle would probably be to set an intention to write down all the areas in my life that are not working, get into a contemplative state, and then allow myself to make the list. The second step would probably be to examine the list to determine a solution(s) or plan(s) of action for each item on the list.

A good mindfulness practice would be to be okay with being uncomfortable.

So how about you? Are you ready to get uncomfortable examining the areas of your life that aren’t working? Would it help to start by focusing on one area at a time?

“Living in denial
is the main hindrance
for anyone wanting
to break free,
but you never will
because you don’t see
a problem.”
