23-173 Change #5

Today’s Mandala Message: You’ve handled change before

This week I’m working through Principle #31 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Embrace Change”. I set my intention today to ponder how I’ve dealt with change before. Canfield states: “If you can always remember that you’ve been through changes in the past…you can begin to approach each new change with the excitement and anticipation you should.

Thinking back to my past changes, yes there have been times I resisted and moved through it kicking and screaming … only to have it turn out okay…even better than expected at times. It’s been easier over time especially as I’ve learned through “A Course in Miracles” how everything is in our best interest. So when something comes up that I find myself resisting, I try to look at it through that lens, giving me a better perspective.

There are still a few situations that are wanting to change that I’m still resisting. Intellectually I know what I need to do, I’ve handled change before and survived, thrived even. I have yet to deal with the underlying fear (limiting belief) that I let hold me back. What can I say…I’m a work in progress.

A good mindfulness practice would be ponder how you’ve handled change in the past.

So how about you? Have you thought about how you’ve handled change in the past? Did you resist it? Did you eventually go with the change? How do you handle change now?

“It is not the strongest
of the species that survive,
nor the most intelligent,
but the one most responsive
to change.”
