Today’s Mandala Message: I am worthy
This week I’m working through Principle #33 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Transcend Your Limiting Beliefs”. I set my intention today to ponder the mantra “I am worthy”. Canfield states: “Believing you are worthy of love means that you believe ‘I deserve to be treated well—with respect and dignity. I deserve to be cherished and adored by someone. I am worthy of an intimate and fulfilling relationship. I won’t settle for less than I deserve. I will do whatever it takes to create that for myself.’ ” And this “relationship” can begin with the relationship we have with ourselves.
Now granted his focus here is “worthy of love” however for this posting, I feel it needs to be more general in that “we are all worthy”. We are worthy of loving ourselves. We are all worthy of being here, being alive. We are all worthy of achieving our dreams.
I know for me I have issues with worthiness; the roots of which are many—which I’ve been working on for the last few decades. In Adia Gooden, PhD article “How to Cultivate Unconditional Self Worth” she offers four ways to begin feeling more worthy starting right now (her article/video go into more detail about each):
- forgive yourself
- practice self-acceptance
- be there for yourself
- connect to supportive people
A good mindfulness practice would be to sit with the idea of being worthy.
So how about you? Do you have issues with self-worth? What areas of your life are affected by it most? What have you done to overcome it?
“Unconditional self-worth

is the sense that
you deserve to be alive,
to be loved and cared for,
to take up space.”
