Today’s Mandala Message: 100% Commitment Makes Life Easier
This week I’m working through Principle #35 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “99% is a Bitch; 100% is a Breeze”. I set my intention today to ponder life is easier when I commit 100%. Canfield states: “It’s like brushing your teeth before you go to bed. You always do it, no matter what. If you find yourself in bed and you have forgotten, you get out of bed and brush them. It doesn’t matter how tired you are or how late it is. You just do it.”
The idea of being 100% committed takes away the self-questioning about what to do because you already know what you want to make happen…you just take the next step. If something else comes up, you just check it against your goal…is it in alignment with your committed goal? if yes, then do it; if not, let it go.
As I stated yesterday, there are only a couple of things that I can honestly say I’m 100% committed to doing. After I posted yesterday’s MotD I made a conscious decision to be 100% committed to my top 3 mandala-related projects for 2023: 1) prepping for the October window display at Footwise Window in downtown Corvallis, 2) finish painting “Archangel Mandala #2”, and 3) finish creating my new oracle decks (5 of them) and at the very least acquire proof copies (in 2024 I plan to finalize them and their respective instruction booklets). With my new commitment in place, I sat down last night and completed the next step towards my October display project.
I have projects in other areas of my life that I’ll review over the next few days.
A good mindfulness practice would be to ponder what 100% commitment would feel like for one of your projects.
So how about you? Are you mostly committed to your goals? Can you up any of them to a100% commitment? Or is it time to put some goals on the back burner to only focus on the 100% committed ones?
“The most difficult thing
— Amelia Earhart
is the decision to act,
the rest is merely tenacity.
The fears are paper tigers.
You can do anything you decide to do.
You can act to change
and control your life;
and the procedure, the process
is its own reward.”
