Today’s Mandala Message: Be Open to Learning More
This week I’m working through Principles #36 and #37 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Learn More Earn More” and “Stay Motivated with the Masters”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of being open to learning. Canfield states: “When I asked [Skip Barber] what distinguishes his best students, he replied ‘The ones who get it are teachable. They’re open to learning. The ones who don’t make it think they know everything already. You can’t teach them anything.’”
I can honestly say that for the most part, I love learning new things. Even as a kid, I would get so excited each new school year. It was an adventure for me. Even now, decades later, I’m still learning new things. Right now I’m learning French, modern calligraphy, and how to tell stories. I also enjoy expanding on what I’ve already learned…especially when it comes to art (painting, drawing, collaging, and so on). The one area where I could use more growth is with self-care and the self-healing my emotional wounds. I’m working on it…it’s a much slower process.
A good mindfulness practice would be to learn one new thing every day…no matter how big, no matter how small.
So what about you? Do you continue to learn new things? Are you open to learning new things? Do you believe it’s too late to learn more?
“The more that you read,
— Dr. Seuss
the more things you will know.
The more that you learn,
the more places you’ll go.”
Blessings,
