Today’s Mandala Message: Be Motived by the Masters

This week I’m working through Principles #36 and #37 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Learn More Earn More” and “Stay Motivated with the Masters”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of listening to those who motivate me.

Canfield highly recommends listening to others (via whatever media we prefer—recordings, podcasts, audible, etc) who motivate us as we go about our day. I usually walk 2 miles every day. When I do or when I traveling for longer periods, I listen to a variety of podcasters that inspire me…sometimes I listen to those who just make me laugh—they inspire me in other ways.

I’m amazed by the timing of some them, that they offer exactly the insight I needed that day. For instance the one I listened to this morning, was talking about self-esteem and how if you focus on your authenticity, the truth about you, the need for approval by others greatly diminishes. Her goal is to get her message out to the masses instead of trying to focus on how many followers and likes she gets.

I’m somewhere in the middle of all that. I do find myself checking IG to see how many likes I rec’d on my post and I feel disappointed sometimes if the number is low, I let my self-esteem take a hit. While I do focus on being authentic with my message and the designing/coloring of my mandalas, I also need to focus on celebrating what I created…regardless of the numbers.

A good mindfulness practice would be to listen to those who motivate you.

So what about you? Who motivates you? Who do you listen to? What about them motivates you?

not to allow rejection
to move me.”
