Today’s Mandala Message: Release the Emergency Brake
This week I’m working through Principles #36 and #37 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Learn More Earn More” and “Stay Motivated with the Masters”. I set my intention today to ponder my “emergency brake”. Canfield states: “Most of us are going through life with the emergency brake on. It’s time to release the limiting beliefs, emotional blocks, and self-destructive behaviors that are holding you back.”
I know that I have my “emergency brake” on for several of my ideas/dreams/goals. Mostly I think that I’m not ready or that I need to do more prep work. Then today I spotted Richie’s quote (below) and had an ah-ha moment. Yes, that’s mostly it! It’s the uncertainty of whether they are good ideas, whether I can actually do any of them, whether it will be helpful for others, and/or whether I’m just wasting my time and energy.
Just yesterday I heard a podcast that talked about certainty and uncertainty…and essentially the message (for me anyway) is to get comfortable with uncertainty because nothing in the future is certain. You won’t until you actually do it.
A good mindfulness practice would be to sit and get to know uncertainty.
So what about you? What’s your “emergency brake”? What would it take to release it? Can you get comfortable with uncertainty?

from moving forward?
The need to be certain.
Certainty is prison.
Break free
and you’ll be free.”
