Today’s Mandala Message: Keep Passion Alive

This week I’m working through Principle #38 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Fuel Your Success with Passion and Enthusiasm”. I set my intention today to ponder keeping passion and enthusiasm alive. Canfield shares: “So how can you maintain passion and enthusiasm every day? The most obvious is to spend more time doing what you love to do. …that includes discovering your true purpose, deciding what you really want to do and have, believing you can do and habit, deliberately creating your dream career, delegating as much as you can that is not your core genius to someone else, and taking concrete steps toward the attainment of your goals.

I consider myself truly blessed in that I get to do what I love to do every day. And yet, there are some days it’s a struggle…mainly because I let fears and limiting beliefs get in the way…especially the one where I feel like I’m not successful unless I sell my art or make money from it.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love to be able to sell more of my art…I just have to remember that the selling of the art doesn’t make me successful…creating the art in the first place is what makes me successful. Otherwise I’d only be creating art that I thought would sell versus creating art for the sake of the art, ie from a place of authenticity.

A good mindfulness practice would be to spend some time today doing what you love to do.

So what about you? Is there at least a few moments a day you can dedicate to doing what you love to do? Are there steps you can take to make that happen? Is there more than one way you can do what you love to do?

“Your work
is to discover your work
and then with all your heart
to give yourself to it.”
