Today’s Mandala Message: Consider Scheduling

This week I’m working through Principle #40 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Redefine Time”. I set my intention today to consider the idea of scheduling my days. Canfield offers a whole process for scheduling for the month by determining days off, days for concentrated work, vacations, family time, etc.

I have to admit scheduling things that are not actual appointments rarely work for me. I can see the value in it and yet it depends on the day. I have put tasks on a schedule for a block of time only to have something come up unexpectedly or I just don’t feel like doing it at that time.

In general, my days are more spur-of-the-moment, in-the-flow kind of thing. I have my to-do list and tend to work from that. My process is to connect with the energy of the day and my projects/tasks to receive guidance about what to do next. I also make use of a loose daily routine of tasks (MotD, Walk, French Lesson, Calligraphy practice, mandala art projects in progress, brain games, chores, and so on).

I’m not sure how I could make full use of Canfield’s suggestion just yet. I do know that I rarely give myself a day off, so maybe I could start by designating a couple days off during the month (of course, I would still do the MotD on those days 😁).

A good mindfulness practice would be consider how scheduling your day/month/life could enhance your results.

So how about you? Do you schedule your days/months? Or do you do them spur-of-the-moment? Would scheduling help you?

“The key is
not to prioritize
what’s on your schedule,
but to schedule your priorities.”
