Today’s Mandala Message: Be Clear
This week I’m working through Principle #41 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Build a Powerful Support Team and Delegate to Them”. I set my intention today to ponder about being clear about what I want from my support. Canfield states: “Once you determine who members of this support team are, you can begin to build and nurture those relationships. Make sure team members are clear about what you expect from them and that you are clear about what they expect from you.”
My challenge in regard to today’s MotD is that sometimes in order to be clear about my expectations, I have to know exactly what I want…I don’t always know that. This is where trust in the abilities of others comes into play. I’ve learned to always leave room for some grey areas because sometimes due to time and/or finances, I may need to adjust my expectations. I’m also learning that sometimes “good enough” is good enough…to stress over minutiae isn’t worth the time, energy, and/or frustration.
A good mindfulness practice would be to strive to be clear about what you want.
So how about you? Are you clear with your support team members? Are you clear about what you expect of them? Are you clear about what they expect from you?
“Always try to use the language
— C. S. Lewis
so as to make quite clear
what you mean
and make sure your sentence
couldn’t mean anything else.”
