23-237 Team #6

Today’s Mandala Message: Trust Your Team

This week I’m working through Principle #41 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Build a Powerful Support Team and Delegate to Them”. I set my intention today to ponder trusting my team…be they human or cosmic. Canfield states: “Though we often fear that if someone else performs tasks for us, they won’t be done well—the reality is there are people who LOVE to do what you hate to do. And they often do a much better job than you would or COULD yourself.”

Earlier today I had planned to go out to do some errands in preparation for the Equinox Fair (yes, it’s a month early) in Salem, OR tomorrow. It would have probably taken me about 1.5 – 2 hours to do myself. And then my husband said he was going out for a bit and asked if I needed anything. At first I said no, that I’d be going out later myself. THEN, like a lightning bolt I remembered this week’s principle and asked if he would be willing to do my errands for me. To my delight he said yes. I clearly stated what I needed and trusted that he would be able to do them just fine. (and he did!)

Here’s what turning my errands over to him did for me. In that 1.5–2 hour span of time, it allowed me to gather together everything I needed (products, supplies, display paraphernalia, and so) for the fair and prep my food (I have a very picky palette). In other words, it allowed me to do that which only I could do without feeling stressed for time or being overwhelmed with too much to do. This was HUGE for me…in so many ways.

A good mindfulness practice would be to trust your team to be able to help you.

So how about you? Do you tend to do everything yourself because you don’t think anyone else can do things the way you need them done? Are there any people in your life right now that you could trust to carry some of the load for you? Have you asked?

“The best way to find out
if you can trust somebody
is to trust them.”
