23-254 Mastermind #2

Today’s Mandala Message: Where Two or More are Gathered as One, Magic Can Happen

This week I’m working through Principle #46 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Mastermind Your Way to Success”. I set my intention today to ponder the value of forming a mastermind group or becoming a member of an existing one. Canfield states: “When you form your mastermind group, consider bringing together people from different professional arenas and people … who can introduce you to a network of people you normally wouldn’t have access to. … when you assemble people from different industries and professions, you get lots of different perspectives on the same subject.”

Currently I meet weekly with two different people. One person I meet with is in a similar position as I am: we’re both around the same age and we’re both wanting to go bigger and better with what we do. The other person I meet with is someone I met in an online French class. We’re both wanting to advance our progress beyond just the class, so we’re working through French workbooks that are outside of what we do in class.

In both cases I feel like I’m making greater progress than I would had I continued to work on my own. In both cases, the other person has a completely different background from my own. In both cases we brainstorm as well as share ideas. In both cases we’re like-minded in our quest to achieve our goals. In both cases, I feel supported as well as being supportive. And even though there are only two of us in each “group”, it’s much easier for me to handle versus being in a larger group…I’ve tried it and for me it’s too overwhelming.

Next on my list is finding someone (or two) to mastermind with around metaphysical and spiritual practices…so I can grow and expand that area of my life.

A good mindfulness practice would be to have a willingness to receive support from other people while also being supportive.

So how about you? Do you tend to receive support from only those within your profession or your same background? Do you limit who you receive help from? Can you be open to hearing from others outside of your arena?

“The Master Mind principle:
Two or more people
actively engaged
in the pursuit
of a definite purpose
with a positive mental attitude,
constitute an unbeatable force.”
