Today’s Mandala Message: Notice How Your Intuition Speaks to You

This week I’m working through Principle #47 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Inquire Within”. I set my intention today to ponder the ways my intuition speaks to me. Canfield states: “Your intuition can communicate with you in many ways. You may get a message from within as a vision or a visual image while you are meditation or dreaming. … It can come in a flash out of the blue or it can be a long, unfolding image like a movie. …Your intuition may speak to you as a hunch, a thought, or a voice actually telling you ‘yes’, ‘no’, ‘go for it’, or ‘not yet’. … You may also receive a message from your intuition through your physical senses.”

For me, I generally hear my intuition speaks to me in short, command-like statements: ‘call _______’, ‘text ______’, ‘take your umbrella’, and so on. If I hear “I need to …” or “I should …”, then I know it’s my ego-self speaking (the use of “I” gives it away immediately for me). It also speaks to me through movies or TV shows: usually it’s just a quick sentence said by one of the characters that just seems to jump right off the screen…as if speaking directly to me. The other way my intuition communicates to me is through goosebumps. Whenever I or someone near me says something and I immediately feel these goosebumps I know that some truth was said…it usually acts as confirmation of what was just said.

A good mindfulness practice would be to pay attention to how your intuition speaks to you.

So how about you? How does your intuition communicate to you? Do you hear it? Do you sense it? Or is it more of a knowing or gut feeling?

 “Intuition
doesn’t tell you
what you want to hear;
it tells you
what you need to hear.”
