Today’s Mandala Message: Be Open to Different Perspectives
This week I’m working through Principles #50 and #51 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Tell the Truth Faster” and “Speak with Impeccability”. I set my intention today to ponder speaking with integrity and what it means. From an article posted on LeadingForChange.ca about this topic, it states: “To speak with integrity means that I’m always going to say what I think is true. And I’m going to be open to a different perspective. If I’m wrong, I’m willing to be swayed and even apologize if necessary. Integrity is how I intend to act. If I’m operating with high integrity, I can still earn other’s trust, even when I’m wrong about something.”
I love the simplicity and succinctness of their definition especially the part about being open to a different perspective…that can be challenging for me. Once I know (or think I know) something to be true for me, it’s often difficult for me to be open to hearing differently…I tend to want to hold on tight. With today’s mandala, I plan to practice being more open.
A good mindfulness practice would be to define what speaking with integrity means to you.
So how about you? What does speaking with integrity mean to you? Are you open to hearing different perspectives? Do you tend to resist it?
