23-338 Spend Less #2

Today’s Mandala Message: Spend Less, Focus More

This week I’m working through Principles #59 and #60: Master the Spending Game and To Spend More, First Make More of Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles”. We continue with more principles about money and our relationship with it. I set my intention today to ponder being more financially focused. Canfield states: “As you commit to becoming debt free and saving more, you’ll encounter an almost miraculous force working in your life. As you change your focus from spending and consuming to enjoying the things you already have and putting money aside, you’ll progress at an almost unexplainable rate.”

Since principle #56, my relationship with money has gradually changed. As one who strives to live a higher-vibrational, soulful life, the thought of money and finances felt icky and not in line with my beliefs. But it turns out it’s my beliefs about money that have made me feel icky about money. I’m gradually seeing the value and energy of money and how it can be used to help me in achieving my goals while also bringing my financial life in balance with other parts of my life. Instead of it being like an anchor, it’s turning into a life preserver.

A good mindfulness practice would be to consider how to focus on improving your relationship with money.

So how about you? Do you tend to ignore your finances? How do you manage your debt(s) and your spending? Are you able to put some money aside?

“You don’t have to see
the whole staircase,
just take the first step.”

— Martin Luther King, Jr.
