Today’s Mandala Message: Grow in Self-Awareness
This week I’m working through the last principle, Principle #64: Empower Yourself by Empowering Others of Jack Canfield’s book “The Success Principles”. I set my intention today to ponder how I can grow in self-awareness. Canfield states: “The greatest contribution you can make to the world is to grow in self-awareness, self-realization, and the power to manifest your own heartfelt dreams and desires. The next greatest thing you can do is to help others do the same. What a wonderful world it would be if we were all to do that.”
It was my intent this year to share in my progress through Canfield’s book as part of my year of exploration and expansion; and by doing so, maybe it would help you/others as well. Almost since the beginning of being “The Mandala Lady” (25 years now), I’ve strived to help others explore their creative side via mandalas and mandala art. In 2024, I’ll continue with that plan, although taking a slightly different approach this time. (more on that as the week progresses).
With regards to self-awareness I found this article on MindValley.com about self-awareness: “Self-awareness is the ability to observe and acknowledge your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors objectively, including positive and negative aspects of yourself.“ They go in depth about it and how to improve upon it, including the suggestion to practice mindfulness…the art of being present. Of all their suggestions that’s the one I need to practice the most. And now that I’ve invested in a smartwatch, I can set it up with a repeating timer as a way to remind me to be present.
A good mindfulness practice would be to consider areas of your life where you have grown and would be ready/able to help others with what you’ve learned.
So how about you? What areas of your life could you grow in self-awareness? What have you learned over the years that you could help others learn as well?
”If you would thoroughly know anything,

teach it to others.”
