If I had to go by how today’s MotD turned out, I would say today’s message reminds us that love can be messy, complicated, expansive, and beautiful…all at the same time.
What makes it complicated is how we use the word “love” to cover a broad spectrum of emotion. From the love we feel towards our favorite foods, to the views we see in nature, to our pets, to the people we don’t know but admire, to the people we do know who have a special place in our hearts.
Essentially it seems to be more about the quality of the connections we make and have with others. The more we allow ourselves to be open to a deeper connection, the more opportunity there is for love. With what’s going on in the world today, we could certainly use more of that, please.
To quote Brené Brown: “Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment.”
