24-022 Success

“when you reach your aim or purpose”

When you think of success, what do you think of first? If you’re like me, money is what I think of first. When someone is successful we assume that they are financially well off.

Today’s MotD is offering us a reprieve from that limited version of “success” and instead gives us a simpler (more easily attainable) version. In this context, throughout my lifetime (7 decades) I’ve been successful thousands and thousands of times. For instance, I successfully learned how to: walk, talk, ride a bicycle, cook, draw, drive a car, ski, run a marathon, earn two degrees, program computers, and so on. Just being alive today, I’m successful.

If there is anything that you set out to do and you reached it…you are a success. Where we tend to get bogged down with this is when we “compare” ourselves to what others have done or what we have accomplished previously.

We are encouraged to take the time today to acknowledge all the ways we have been successful in our life…and know that regardless of where we are…success is really just a process we go through to learn and grow.

How about you? Is success a core value for you?

btw…here’s what it looked like before:

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
