Credibility
”the power of quality of inspiring belief”
Like most of the value words I’ve presented thus far, this one is meant to be turned inward. Yes, we look for credibility when we listen to, hire, follow, and/or buy into people, products, or experiences that are outside of ourselves. Today’s MotD, however, inspires us to believe in ourselves and what we do.
This is something I struggle with…why is that? Why do I struggle with believing in myself? In certain areas, I do believe in myself but in others…especially as it pertains to what I still want to do with/in my life, I struggle. Since I don’t seem to have the answer to this, I went to The Google just now to find out about this struggle. Here’s the first thing that came up on LifeHack.org:
“There can be many reasons that we don’t believe in ourselves:
- We don’t believe in ourselves because someone told us we shouldn’t.
- We fear failure, and we focus on all the times we have failed.
- We focus on the lack in our life instead of the abundance.
- We have never had the support to build up our self esteem in the first place.”
Most of it comes down to some form of fear. Surprise! Surprise! In their article, they offer 5 things to remember when you don’t believe in yourself. The one that caught my attention the most was “fear can’t stop you.” In their description they shared this mantra/affirmation:
“I see you fear, and I know everything I want is on the other side of you. I see you, and I am afraid, but I am going to face you and move past you anyway and face the consequences of my actions because I believe in myself, and I can handle anything.”
And I know that when I (we) believe in myself (ourselves), it allows others to believe in me (us) as well.
How about you? Is credibility a core value for you?
BTW…this is what it looked like before I started…

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
