Results-Oriented
“a strong focus on the output instead of the process to achieve the goal”
I can see where there are times when more focus needs to be spent on the process rather than the output. Today’s MotD, however, suggests that we practice setting intentions focusing on the what (outcome) versus the how (process).
Let me explain. When we set an intention on what we want, letting go of the how, the Universe (Powers that Be, Source, God, our Team of Guides and Angels) is then given a wide berth on the how to make that happen. Chances are the how will turn out completely different than how we would have figured. Also, our best bet with setting our intentions is to focus on how we want to feel.
For instance if you need to make a difficult phone call, set an intention something like “After I finish this phone call, I intend to feel relieved and be smiling”. This leaves the “process” wide open for the how. It could be that the call starts out weird but then something unexpected happens or something is revealed which turns the whole call around thus leaving you feeling relieved and smiling after you hang up.
For example, I needed to visit my local Social Security office to iron out a critical timing issue. My friends warned me to go early, it’s going to take all day, and other dire warnings. That morning I set the intention to be in and out of the SS office by 10 am and with a smile on my face. I was out of there by 9:35 and the issue was completely resolved…and of course, I walked out of there with a smile on my face.
Setting intentions takes practice and fine-tuning. Your intentions need to be for you (not directed towards someone else). They need to be stated positively…intend what you DO want not what you DON’T want.
Start with some simpler things like: “when I arrive at my destination, I intend to easily find a perfect parking spot”…or…”I intend to complete today’s tasks easily, quickly, and joyfully.” … or … “I intend to have plenty of time to do _______”. Give it a try and have fun with it.
How about you? Is results-oriented a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like before…

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
