Easygoingness

“being without worry or concern”

How different would this world be if more (all) of us could go about life without worry or concern? It’s probably way beyond our comprehension to imagine that world. However, we can go after it individually. I for one would love to have more easygoingness in my life. The funny (interesting—not ha ha funny) thing is, I know that all my worries and concerns come from within me.

Take for instance today. I’m about to drive to the city (1.5+ hour drive in one direction) on a very rainy day. It is what it is and yet I feel within me some concern about the drive. The facts are: it’s raining, I’m going to be driving on a wet highway. My reaction, my interpretation of these facts create the worry and concern. I have successfully driven on highways (including this one) in rain before…heck I’ve driven in snow and sleet before…and (to quote a song Elaine Stritch is known for) … I’m still here.

The bottom line is I know I can handle the drive, I’ve done it before. The “worry and concern” are internally created. Yes, I need to use extra caution on this drive today and at the same time I can also make the drive in a state of easygoingness. That’s my intention for today.

So how about you? Is easygoingness a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like before…

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
