Flair
“a special ability for doing something well”
If you can do something, why not do it well…of course for those of us who are recovering perfectionists, knowing when to stop at “well” is a challenge…it NEEDS TO BE PERFECT! Ok, I guess that’s the direction this post is taking today.
For me, I appreciate when someone goes the extra mile to go above what’s expected. I love when I receive a delivery and in the box the seller has left a handwritten note to thank me for my order. Or when shopping at one of our local shops, they put my purchases in a pretty bag. Or when buying a plant, I’m given a packet of seeds. It’s the added touch that makes a huge difference.
My challenge with doing something well is overcoming my fear of it not being enough…questioning its quality and value as it is right now. This can create a serious case of procrastination for me. I know it all comes down to my co-dependency (recovery is a process). “Maybe if I do “this”, then they’ll like it and/or me.” It’s bullshit stuff, I realize. I always want what I do to be special, I just have to know when it’s “well” enough.
How about you? Is flair a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like before…

joyfully,

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
