Fascination
“the state of feeling an intense interest in something”
What fascinates you? For me? Mandalas. From the moment I saw my first mandala, I was hooked. The thought of using geometry to create patterns in a circle captured both my software engineering mind and my soulful creative Self. That was 25 years ago and that fascination continues today as I take that “intense interest” into new and different directions.
I’m often asked while doing readings for people “what’s my purpose?” or “what am I suppose to be doing?” or “what direction am I to take?” I usually tell them to start paying attention to “what makes your heart sing?”, “what uplifts you?”, “what makes you come alive?”
With today’s MotD, I now have another way to ask the question: “What fascinates you?” What’s “fascinating” here is that sometimes what fascinates us could be perceived as a negative thing or a positive thing. To which I would further ask the question: “Why?…Why does that fascinate you?” It’s that digging deeper into that answer that will reveal more about you and your direction.
Once you glean a clearer picture of what fascinates you, you can better understand the direction to take. Essentially, we’re being encouraged to follow what fascinates us.
How about you? Is fascination a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with…

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
