Teamwork
“The combined action of a group of people to achieve, in an effective and efficient way, a common goal”
Most of what we’ve created in this world required some form of teamwork…without it we would most likely be going around in circles getting nothing done.
For today’s MotD, we also want to look at teamwork from beyond just the physical…in particular our Teams of Guides and Angels.
It’s my understanding that each of us has our own Team, with about 2-4 members as core members…meaning they are always there. Then depending on what we’re doing or working on, other Team members come on board…appropriate to the task at hand.
For me, I feel like I have four core members and that when I’m doing my art, some famous artists who have passed join in as temporary members from time to time. My Team also let me know that they want to be called Team Rhonda.
Here’s the story of how I came to know them. About ten years ago a friend and I flew to LA to participate in a huge new age-type fair. My coloring books were too much to bring with me on the plane, so I put a few of them in my suitcase and had the rest shipped directly to the conference hotel, which was also where we were staying.
We arrived on Thursday. The fair started the next afternoon. The hotel concierge said they had not received my shipment. I frantically checked several times…still no shipment.
That night I was freaking out…most of what I wanted to sell was now in USPS limbo. At two in the morning, I couldn’t sleep, so I called out to the Universe…”help me see this differently! Please, help me!. Help me. Help me.”
The next thing I know I’m singing the song “Help me Rhonda” by The Beach Boys, which made me laugh and completely changed my mood…such that I was able to finally go to sleep.
The next morning, while pondering the “Rhonda” song, it dawned on me that “Rhonda” was an acronym whose meaning just popped into my head: “Really Happy Organization of Noble (Nutty) Dedicated Angels”. How cool is that?!?!
The shipment still hadn’t arrived and yet in that moment I was okay with it. I knew that everything would be okay…and that it will all work out somehow.
As it turns out, the shipment arrived Monday morning, the day AFTER the show ended. I then had to hire a taxi to bring me to a local post office so I could ship it back. To make matters worse, the box was damaged so I had to re-pack the box…right there in the post office.
Financially, the trip was a bust and yet on the bright side, I had an amazing experience of meeting my Team who helped me see the lighter side of my situation. I’ve been consciously working with them ever since.
AND since them I’ve become aware of another team that works with me: Team Charlotte…but that’s another story for another day.
How about you? Is teamwork a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

joyfully,
Maureen

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
