Self-Improvement

“the activity of learning new things on your own that make you a more skilled or able person”

The Universe (literally and figuratively) is all about expansion. Everything is always changing…whether we like or not…and most of us would rather it not. Am I right? Too bad…that’s how the cookie crumbles, as they say. Now granted, expansion doesn’t necessarily mean there’s improvement. Like those commercials that say “new and improved”…more times than not, that product would turn out to be neither. Remember Coca Cola back in the 80s? …well us older folks do.

So…since the Universe is expanding and we exist within this Universe (some even go so far as to say we ARE the Universe), it stands to reason that we, too, are all about expansion…although for us that expansion means self-improvement. Why would we want to go in the other direction? … self-stagnation? (insert someone blowing a raspberry)

The definition presented here refers to something more outside of ourselves. Today’s MotD would like us to also look internally…emotionally, psychologically, spiritually. Chances are if we were to look more closely at how far we’ve come without really doing anything consciously to improve, we would notice that, yes indeed, we have grown…usually by osmosis.

Now…imagine, if you will, what would happen, how fast and how far we would evolve, if we made a conscious effort towards our inner self-improvement…it…would…be…stupendous!

(fyi…I don’t know who I channeled today but I definitely got this British Professor vibe throughout this post. just felt like sharing that with you.)
