Life Direction
“the overall course that a person takes with their thoughts and behavior”
One of the rules of “the game of life” is that we all have free will…meaning we get to choose whether we go this way or that; that we choose what thoughts to hold dear to us and which ones to completely ignore. At any given place in time we can change directions.
As part of this game, we’re each given a set of parameters from which to work. We all have the same core ones such a body, that needs oxygen, water, and some form of food substance to exist. How all of that looks and operates varies to lesser or greater degrees for each of us.
It’s said that we have a soul that agrees to come into this life with said parameters (the good, the bad, and the ugly). And from that first breath, free will kicks in. Unfortunately, it takes us a few years to understand that concept so many of us establish patterns and habits on an unconscious level…some for the good…some to our detriment.
All of these things make up the basis of our life direction. That being said…and here’s where it gets interesting…we can change directions at any time…it’s NEVER too late. As we become more self aware of who we are and/or who we want to be, free will allows us to change the course we’re traversing…as many times as we need/want to change it.
It’s really that simple: in an instant we can change our minds…which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be easy going. As Amelia Earhart says about making a decision…once made, “the rest is just tenacity”. Once we set our course, we can then move forward in that direction…until we decide to change it again. That, my friends, is the game of life.
How about you? Is have a life direction a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
