24-183 Brilliance

abstract background with colors of cream, yellow, teal, purple, and light green. on top in gold metallic ink is a simple flower mandala over a yellow background area on the lower left side. from each of the petal tips a wavy line extends out to the edge of the paper. in between each line is an outline of that space. inside the spaces is a line with multiple loops.

“the quality of being exceptionally impressive or outstanding”

Today’s MotD reminds me of something comedian Steve Martin said to someone in answer to a question he was asked on “how to make it in show business”. His reply:

Be so good they can’t ignore you.

— Steve Martin

That statement can apply to anything…not just show business. Essentially, what he’s saying is to stop trying to be like or do like someone else…instead do all you can to better yourself/ourselves. So instead of trying to figure out everyone else’s “secret” to success…we are encouraged instead to take a look at ourselves.

Are we doing all we can to be “outstanding” in what we do? Are we working on improving our skills? Are we exploring our options on ways to be exceptional? While it serves us to learn from the success of others, we also need to put in the time and effort to be so good…our light shines so brightly…that we can’t help but be seen.

How about you? Is brilliance a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

joyfully,

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
