Modesty
“a sign of inner strength and self-assurance, where one’s worth is not dependent on external validation or the need to outshine others.”
For some reason today’s MotD reminds me of something comedian/actor/musician Steve Martin once said to someone who wanted advice on how to get into show business. He replied: “be so good they can’t ignore you.”
He’s telling us (or at least this is what I’m gleaning from it) that rather than look outside of ourselves for validation and self-worth, focus instead on striving to be the best version of ourselves that we can be, regardless of how the outside world responds to us and/or what we do.
We are encouraged to focus on developing our inner strength and self-assurance. We do that by being true to ourselves, by doing that which makes our hearts sing…whether people hear our song or not.
How about you? Is modesty a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
