24-206 Being Frank

MotD 24-206 7/24/24 abstract background with colors of teal, yellow, green, dark purple, light purple, off-white. on top in purple ink is a circle, with a small circle around a purple spot in the background. around the bigger circle are 11 slanted petals as if in the wind. within each petal is a line drawn up the center with a small circle at the end. joining each petal at the top is a fan-like shape. the whole effect creates the illusion that the mandala is spinning.

Being Frank

“honest, sincere, and telling the truth, even when this might be awkward or make other people uncomfortable.”

When I married my husband in 1990, I legally added his last name to mine: Frank. My maiden name, Therrien, can be a challenge for people to pronounce, and I always have to spell it out when I’m on the phone. But with Frank, it’s so much easier…especially when I ran for County Commissioner in Florida a few years later. I actually took on the slogan: Maureen Frank: A Frank and Honest Choice. I realize the redundancy but that was part of the slogan’s charm.

As a sun sign of Scorpio, I fully appreciate the essence of being frank…my challenge is to keep me from being TOO frank. I bite my tongue a lot. For me I’d much rather people be up front with me than hold back…my psychic skills can only do so much.

The key to “being frank” is in the definition: “sincere”. When we speak from sincerity, that we really want people to know the truth from a heartfelt place, then the honesty can be easier to take. Just as when people sincerely want me to tell a truth about me that’s difficult for them to share, I can better handle that truth.

btw…I didn’t win the election…however, a much bigger and better opportunity came my way because of my campaign.

How about you? Is being frank a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

joyfully,

Maureen

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
