Clear-headedness
“able to think clearly and stay calm”
The operative part of this definition is the “stay calm” part. I know from experience, lots and lots of experiences, where had I been able to stay calm, crappy situations would have turned out differently and been resolved quicker. Over time I’ve managed to catch myself sooner which has allowed me to stop and calm myself before taking another step.
Actually, the word “stop” makes for an effective mantra. Try it. Say “stop” to yourself right now. For at least a moment, your chattering thoughts stop…the brain becomes still. Our challenge becomes making those moments last longer. If in the middle of the night my brain is firing on all cylinders, repeating the “stop” mantra has worked like a charm to let me go back to sleep.
So why the need for clear-headedness? Well, it makes room for insights and guidance to enlighten our space. Just as clearing out a cluttered room in our home makes room for us to move around in along with it feeling calmer to be in this room.
“Stop” what you’re doing. Check in with yourself. What’s truly needing your attention right now?
How about you? Is clear-headedness a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
