Positive Attitude

“being optimistic about situations, interactions, and yourself”

Hooboy…You can probably see where we’re going with this one…”situations”?…no….”interactions”?…no…”yourself”? …ding…ding…ding…we have a winner!

Of all the things we can have a positive attitude about probably the easier ones are situations and interactions. For many of us, though, the most challenging thing to have a positive attitude about is ourselves.

Why is that? Is it because we bought into the not-so-positive stuff that others told us about ourselves…especially in our formative years??? Most likely. And if we had no way to know how to deal with it and heal from it, later in life we just continued the pattern of accepting the negative and quickly overlooking the positive.

So what do we do about it? For one, we stop beating ourselves up…right now. And we question everything we say that’s not positive about ourselves (to ourselves and to others) Is what we just said/thought TRUE?!? Well, is it? What evidence do you have? What evidence do you have to the contrary?

And if it just so happens to be true…well then that’s an excellent starting place to turn that around. Awareness is more than half the battle when it comes to changing things. How can you come up with a solution when you aren’t even aware there’s a problem?

We are encouraged to embrace a positive attitude about ourselves…in whatever way we’re able to do so. When we have a positive attitude about ourselves our whole world changes…others will begin noticing that we’ve changed…at first they may think it’s because we got a new hair cut or lost weight. Our situations and interactions will then change to match our new vibration of positivity. Yay!

How about you? Is having a positive attitude a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
