24-223 Joy

MotD 24-223 Joy abstract background with a creamy off-white background, textured pattern of a partial mandala stencil in a mix of micro dots of magenta and light green. on top are some blobs of magenta near the bottom. on top in a light olive green, I outlined all the parts of the mandala stencil visible on the paper. I emphasized the exclamation points that are part of the outer design.

Joy

“an intense feeling of deep spiritual connection, pleasure, and appreciation”

We are encouraged on this fine day in August, to take moments out of our day (for the rest of our lives) to notice what brings us joy…from the mundane to the sublime.

For me, using our half bathroom that we added to our home about three years ago gives me great joy because for almost 20 years in this house, we’ve only had one bathroom. It’s more than just that, it’s also the way I decorated it. In the process we also remodeled the existing full bathroom…which up until then, was functional but in dire need of attention. Now it’s a such a joy to take showers and baths (we put in a deeper tub, too 😁).

On my morning walks, the giant trees in our neighborhood make me feel joyful…they are magnificent. The blooming roses and hydrangeas in our yard this time of year are a joy to behold.

Hanging out with my brothers on zoom every week gives me great joy. Our conversations can get heated sometimes, regardless, I so appreciate our time together.

We are reminded today that we are all worthy of joy, we are all worthy of experiencing joy. It doesn’t have to just be a dishwashing liquid … which, btw, was my mom’s dish soap of choice.

Joy to the World (if you dare)

How about you? Is joy a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

joyfully,

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
