Admiration
“something regarded as impressive or worthy of respect”
This is another of those words where it’s easier to express it outwardly towards what someone else did rather than on something we ourselves did…we may even play it down so as not to seem braggadocios.
With today’s MotD we’re encouraged to admire what we’ve accomplished so far…regardless of the perception of size or impact. We’re still here aren’t we? We must have had some successes along the way? Thinking back on my life, I mostly recall the big things I’ve done and have put aside the smaller things…forgetting that they too were a part of my journey thus far.
Ultimately we’re being reminded that we are worthy of self-respect and what we’ve accomplished is worthy of self-respect. And with that self-respect we can more honestly respect and admire others and their accomplishments.
We are also reminded that what we admire in others is something we can recognize in ourselves…you know, like that old saying: it takes one to know one. Pay attention to what we admire about other people so that we can nurture that same trait in ourselves.
How about you? Is admiration a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
