Daringness
“willing to take or seek out risks—bold and venturesome”
The operative word here is “willing”. Are we willing to take or seek out risks? Actually two other words could be added to that question, giving us a total of three different perspectives on our mindset regarding daringness. They are: ready and able.
Are we ready, willing, and able to take or seek out risks? We are encouraged to explore the negative replies to each of those terms. What’s stopping us from being ready? What would make us ready? How will we now when we’re ready? What’s stopping us from being willing? What is holding us back? What’s stopping us from being able? Do we need more training, more skill development, more education, more research? What’s stopping us from doing any of those things?
Probably our biggest challenge about being daring is not so much the fear of taking the risk but the fear of falling short of the risk paying off in a positive way. In other words, we fear that we won’t be able to handle it if the risk fails. Here is where we need to remind ourselves that all failure is is feedback. It lets us know what works and what needs adjusting before we try again.
Adopting the mantra “I can handle the outcome” helps put us one step closer to being ready, willing, and able to seek out risks and claim the rewards of doing so.
How about you? Is daringness a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
