Humor
“the ability to be funny or laugh at things that are funny”
I was blessed with a funny dad. He could go for hours telling one joke after another and never repeat a single one. He loved making people laugh and he loved to laugh. He and a couple of his funny buddies would always provide the humorous skits for the annual local talent show. And because he was a carpenter he usually built any of the sets or props needed for said skits. Most photos show him with a big smile on his face. I’d like to think that I got my sense of humor from him. I, too, love to make people laugh as well as being able to have a good laugh.
We could certainly use more humor in our world. Nothing quells tension quicker than a good laugh. Many a stand-up comedian has shared how, as a kid, they used their sense of humor to lighten the mood of a school bully. Many thriller-type movies incorporate humor at points where there is the most tension. Making us laugh, calming us down.
Plus, there’s the health benefit of humor…it has been shown to positively affent our mental, emotional, and physical health…as well as benefiting our overall well-being. In other words, laughter has been found to be a good, if not the best, medicine.
How about you? Is humor a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
