Inner Harmony
“a feeling of peace of mind derived from self-acceptance, acceptance of the people and circumstances around me, and acceptance of the past”
This is something I strive for and yet fail at on a regular basis. I always seem to be in a hyper state of vigilance, ie: flight or fright mode. Seeing it described the way it is in this definition, I’m intrigued by the multiple uses of the word acceptance and I may have found a way for me to achieve inner harmony.
Too often we tend to translate acceptance as condoning. Condoning means we agree with what’s happening in a given situation. Acceptance means recognizing the reality of the situation without judgment, which in turn gives us a solid platform from which to determine our next move, if there’s even one to made. It’s like using GPS…you can only get directions to your destination if you give it a starting point. Acceptance is a starting point. What we do after that is up to us.
Essentially, our inner harmony comes from being present with what IS without judgment.
How about you? Is inner harmony a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
