Sympathy

“when you share the feelings of another”

It’s interesting that this definition speaks of feelings in general, not just one specific feeling. Usually we associate “sympathy” as feeling sorry for someone because they experienced some form of loss.

All we’re being asked to do here is to be aware enough of the feelings of another, that we share and understand them…not to fix them or change them or suppress them in any way.

From this place of shared feelings, we form a more humane humanity. That rather than ridicule, criticize, or demean in derision and divisiveness, we instead uplift, join, and support in unison.
