Being the clever person that I am, I reached out to ChatGPT for some insight into the nuances between craftiness, cleverness, and resourcefulness. Here’s what it came up with:

“Craftiness often carries the connotation of using cleverness in a way that involves subtlety, slyness, or even manipulation. It suggests the ability to achieve one’s goals through cunning, often by navigating complex situations with finesse, sometimes skirting ethical boundaries. I’d like to think I used a subtle yet clever, creative, and resourceful approach to today’s MotD…I just made use of what was already there, outlined it, extended the design a bit, and adorned it with some gold. No ethical boundaries were crossed.

We are encouraged to be in tuned with what is so as to gain insight by making full use of our intellectual agility, so we come up with “smart ideas, witty responses, and/or novel solutions on the spot.”
