Liking
“favorable regard”
Today, I feel compelled to focus on the definition rather than the word. IMHO the word “like” is SO misused and definitely OVERused. When I hear more than one or two “likes” in one sentence, I begin to tune out with what’s being said…but I digress.
The idea of using the phrase “favorable regard” seems antiquated yet quite fitting….we have positive feelings or opinions about that which or whom we are regarding. In French “regarder” means to look (I’m learning French and welcome any opportunities to reference it).
“Favorable regard” means that we appreciate and/or approve of someone or something, and because of that we hold them in a pleasing light. It would seem that anything we do or anyone we are around, it would certainly be a much better encounter if we at least positively regard it or them…otherwise, where’s the joy in that?
How about you? Is liking a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
